Description

The Black Knight is our second interconnect to use Gekko GAC1 connectors.

It is a directional, unshielded interconnect cable made of two twisted solid-core OFHC  AWG24 conductors, made in Britain. Each conductor is insulated by thick cotton braid.

The cotton insulation is the first in its dielectric properties with an exception to air: the Dielectric Constant of Air is 1.0, cotton is 1.3, and Teflon is 2.0. Consequently, the use of cotton insulation, rather than Teflon, further reduces capacitance and inductance.

Cotton dielectric also plays an important role as a cushion in reducing unnecessary vibrations to secure real sound. It creates a natural and warm sound that perfectly harmonises with the Black Knight OFHC copper conductors. By eliminating the unnecessary vibrations, while still securing the original signal, natural cotton dielectric creates vivid and lively music.

The two conductors are twisted together and the cable is then covered with two more layers of braid providing an additional mechanical protection to the conductors.

The interconnect is terminated with our uniquely designed Gekko GAC1 (patent pending) RCA connectors, which allows the cable wires to make direct contact to the equipment’s RCA sockets.

The sound of the Gekko BLACK KNIGHT is open, fast and dynamic. It is able to transfer subtle details and ambient information with natural warmth.
